Disneyland is a theme park located in Anaheim, California, owned and operated by the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division of the Walt Disney Company and was opened on July 18, 1955. The major attractions of Disneyland are New Orleans Square, Bear Country, Mickey’s Toontown and Disney California Adventure Park. In 2010, 15.98 million people visited the park, making it the second most visited park in the world that calendar year. Disneyland currently boasts 58 attractions, the largest number of attractions for a Disney theme park.
Disneyland is divided into nine themed “lands” with rides appropriate for different ages and heights, shows that will entertain kids and adults, opportunities to interact with Disney characters, interactive activities and exhibits, shops selling souvenirs and collectables from kitsch to fine crystal, themed snack bars and restaurants, live bands, dancing, parades of elaborate Disney-themed floats and characters and a nightly fireworks display. There are also special seasonal activities for Halloween and Christmas.
The nine themed parks are:
a. Main Street, U.S.A., designed to resemble an early 20th-century Midwest town
b. Adventureland, featuring jungle-themed adventures
c. Frontierland, illustrating an American Old West frontier town
d. Fantasyland, bringing to life characters and places from Disney’s movies for children;
e. Tomorrowland, giving an optimistic vision of the future.
f. Holidayland, a recreation area including a circus and baseball diamond.
g. New Orleans Square, based on 19th-century New Orleans.
h. Bear Country, themed around the mountain forests of the American South.
i. Mickey’s Toontown, themed around the Toontown
Fantasyland, a special area of Disneyland is a great place to visit with kids, especially little girls. A great place to visit inside Fantasyland is the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire shop, where you can shop all sorts of princess costumes and dresses, including Cinderella princess costumes and Belle dress up costumes.
Some of the most funniest and entertaining things to do at Disneyland are:
a. Enjoy the entrance to Disneyland with Mickey and Minnie mouse at Toontown.
b. Adore the Disney gallery and have some photos at Partners statue.
c. Eat and Shop in the Crystal Shop in New Orleans Square and at World of Disney.
d. Get on the Disneyland Rail Road and ride all the way around the park.
e. Experience the magical fountain and showers at the Disneyland Hotel.
f. Watching out the fabulous Animation Building and enjoying Disney’s Electrical Parade.
g. Sit on the benches in Sun Plaza, and listen to the sounds of the rushing water.
h. Looking into the Wishing Well at Snow White’s Grotto.
i. Enjoy a teriyaki stick at Bengal’s Barbecue at Adventureland.
j. Go on Pirates of the Caribbean on a weekday night and admire the swans in the moat.
k. Enjoy a lively promenade featuring unique shopping and dining experience, as well as exciting nighttime entertainment at the Downtown Disney District.
l. Dine out at the fancy restaurant and experience the most extraordinary lavish buffets and tasty drinks.
Disney Land is a massive vacation resort with many hotels, an astonishing number of restaurants, shopping and entertainment districts, and a wealth of other features to explore. There are a number of luxury hotels for accommodation and make our vacations a memorable event of our life. There are three Disney hotels adjacent to California Adventure. The suite hotels are the best of the bunch, with large suite rooms and many perks like free breakfast and kids programs.
